History Of Bandung Zoo 

Bandung Zoo was originally known by the name Derenten (in Sundanese language, dierentuin) which means the zoo. Bandung Zoo was founded in 1930 by the Bandung Zoological Park (BZP), which is spearheaded by Director Dennis, Hoogland. Approval of the establishment of this zoo under by the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies and the endorsement decision was poured on 12 April 1933 No. 32. At the time of Japanese control of this area, this resort is less manageable, until in 1948, performed rehabilitation to restore the function of these tourist attractions. In 1956, at the initiative of R. Ema Bratakoesoema, Bandung Zoological Park was disbanded and replaced their Marga Satwa Tamansari Foundation in 1957.
